It’s been now about half a year since my last update and I have to say, balancing work, live and on top a blog is a tough thing!

BUT, I AM BACK (once again). Und ich bin gekommen um zu bleiben…

And a fresh start requires a new perspective: I give you Paris and my favourite impressions from my little trip to this beautiful place.

To be honest I was a bit too late! Most of the leaves were already gone; but I think I still got a few nice shots. That’s the beauty that only mother nature can bring us…

It has been a little while since I posted something; mainly because I left Gunma (a rural prefecture in Japan) to work again in Saitama (right next to Tokyo). Before I officially end the Chapter “Gunma” I want to post one last time some of the stunning sunset impression that I experienced there. There are not many places in Japan that paint the evening as colourful as this little prefecture

Gunma I’ll miss you (but only a little bit…)

I promise you, you won’t find anything like that in Tokyo!!

Right now I am living in Gunma (群馬県). It feels like the whole prefecture is countryside. Gunma doesn’t have much but its sunsets are simply stunning. I usually finish work late at night, but whenever I get out of work a bit earlier (and on Sunday, my only day off) I am taking my camera with me and try to capture the beauty of Gunma’s sunsets.

Tokyo will hold the Olympic Games in 2020! Just the night before the decision was announce, I was taking some shots of the Tokyo Tower. The wonderful thing about the Tokyo Tower is that it often changes its lightning according to special occasion. For the 2020 Games the building presented itself in the following colours:

There is no Japanese summer without Cicadas!

Here there are flying giants making such  strong noise that you barely hear the birds. When one of these monster Insects found the way into my apartment I could not refrain from taking some shots. So here they are my first Macro-shots from Japan…More will follow!

Baby Pigeon

Baby Pigeon

What are you doing when you discover a little pigeon baby on your balcony and you have to protect it against your ‘evil’ landlord?

About 2 Weeks ago when I first moved in my new apartment in Japan, me and my housemate realised that we had a daily visitor, who was a quite noisy pigeon. Apart of doing big business all over our balcony it was also waking us up every morning with its “gurr gurr guuuur guuuur”. So we complained to our landlord.

Then 3 days ago we found a little nest with one egg in it. My housemate wanted me to throw it in the trash but I was a bit unsure, so I left the decision for the next day…when it was already too late.

New Nest

New Nest

So now we had a little baby bird, a mommy pigeon that was noisier than ever, a super dirty balcony and a landlord, who wanted to finish it all (my housemate kind of too). In a surprise push forward I decided to clean the balcony and build a second nest in a tree nearby.  I know you are not supposed to touch/move a birds nest, but under the circumstance I didn’t have much choice. 2 hours and 4 kg of pigeon poo later I finally managed to bring the little chick in its new home. The mom was watching me the whole time so I am pretty sure she will find it. I will also check on it in the coming days. Japan life really is an adventure…fingers crossed everything works out!
